I am writing this article to let the people in the North Little Rock, AR area know about one of the locally owned companies. This company, Crestwood Cleaners, is ran by very dishonest individuals. The goal of this article is to inform you of the dishonest people you may be doing business with, or to prevent you from doing business with these dishonest individuals.
I will first, as a former employee, let you know some of the dishonest ways he gets over on his customers. The first thing I noticed is that he made me start creasing all of the short sleeve shirts. I noticed that some of the shirts had a Creased Sleeve tag on them(letting you know to crease the sleeve) while others did not. I asked the manager and the people who asked for creased sleeves were charged for the service, but those who did not received the creased sleeves anyway for free. So he essentially charged the people who didn't know anybody. Along side this issue is the fact that you will be charged for creasing a long sleeve, but it does not take any more skill, product, or time to press them than it does the short sleeves.
Another piece of dishonesty toward his customers is that he allows the supervisor to run your dry cleaning with the regular laundry and press it with the regular laundry when convenient, rather than giving you the service you actually pay for. Your dry cleaning should not be stiff. If you get your blouses dry cleaned there....they are not dry cleaning them, they are pressing them. This was one of my issues because he pays the employees who do dry cleaning more than he paid me, yet every day I was doing part of their dry cleaning.
I brought these issues up to him and he did not care. He could not or would not dispute my input with any valid information. They like to do something I call "Peeing down your back and telling you it's raining."
During a meeting where I was discussing all of my concerns, I told him that I had been filling out applications because I was scared I was going to lose my job randomly, and that if I was to leave I would provide the proper notice and not just quit on him. He got mad and told me if I was going to quit he did not need me and for me to leave. I asked him if he was firing me and he said, "Yes, you're fired, go draw unemployment." He then escorted me out of the building. A co-worker called and told me that as soon as he escorted me out, he then walked into the office and came back out and gave everybody their bonus checks. I did not receive mine, even though I earned it from the previous months.
Today I received my denial of unemployment documentation. He told them that I quit voluntarily. I did not quit and I am willing to go back today. He is a liar and a very dishonest individual, along with his store manager. His supervisor is a crack head who walks around all day talking to herself with her eyes rolling around in her head. The owner is rarely at the stores to even know what is going on within the stores. He hangs on the vindictive words of his manager, who was a witness to him saying I was fired and to draw unemployment, but now says he never said that.
I also believed and expressed that I felt me and the only other guy there were being discriminated against. They were making us do things that nobody else had to do because we were men. I was then told by a tenured associate that they had lost a racial discrimination case to a former employee, named Ms Cookie. Since, I delt with the discrimination and favoritism I believe it to be true. I would like Ms. Cookie to contact me, or anybody else who has information about this case. I believe it would be a great help to my case.
CRESTWOOD CLEANERS IS A VERY DISHONEST COMPANY!
If they can get over on you... you'd better believe that they're gonna do that!
If honesty and integrity means nothing to you, or you just like to pay people for a service you request, only to have them pull the wool over your eyes and give you another service.....then please, by all means, this is the place for you. If you yourself are a person of integrity, I think you should take your business else where. The people running this company are very dishonest.
